Select a face-up card, then a destination column. Dragging also works.

A different kind of sequence

Here are the details for this mode. The tableau has seven columns. Moves build down in the same suit rather than allowing cross-suit destinations. Scorpion on hodojf.com uses one 52-card deck with four suits. Four complete King-to-Ace runs clear the game.

Read the opening cards

Keep these points in mind. All cards in the last three columns are face up. Three cards remain in the stock. Each opening column contains seven cards for a total of 49 tableau cards. The first three cards in each of the first four columns are face down.

Check rank and suit together

The following details apply here. A King cannot land on another card because no higher rank exists. A seven of hearts can land on an exposed eight of hearts. A seven of hearts cannot land on an eight of spades. A moved group's leading card must land on a card exactly one rank higher in the same suit.

Order within a group may vary

Keep these points in mind. Any face-up card can be selected together with every card beneath it. The selected cards do not need to share a suit to travel together. The leading selected card still has to meet the destination rule. The selected cards do not need to descend in rank to travel together.

The empty-column rule

Here are the details for this mode. A group led by a lower rank cannot enter an empty column. Cards beneath a moved King do not need to be in sequence. An empty column is therefore less flexible than an empty column in ordinary Spider. An empty column accepts a King or a group led by a King.

Uncover another choice

Here are the details for this mode. An exposed card can carry the cards beneath it when its own destination is legal. Undo restores the earlier hidden-card arrangement when the move is reversed. Removing all face-up cards above a hidden card turns that hidden card face up. The next hidden card is revealed automatically.

Use the stock once

There are no further stock cards after the three-card deal. The stock contains one final deal of three cards. This Scorpion version permits its stock deal when columns are empty. Dealing places a face-up card on each of the first three columns.

Complete a suit

The following details apply here. All thirteen cards in a collected run must be face up. A completed run must descend from King to Ace in one suit. The game removes a qualifying run automatically from the bottom of a column. Moving an unordered group does not make that group a completed sequence.

Plan around blocked cards

Hint lists legal choices without promising a winning continuation. Replay and Undo let you explore another approach to the same layout. A move can carry unwanted cards along with a useful leading card. Checking the whole moved group helps you anticipate what will become blocked.

Your separate local record

A few details help explain this feature. Random Scorpion shuffles are not advertised as guaranteed winnable. My Statistics records Scorpion starts and wins separately from other variants. Scorpion keeps a separate saved position when game saving is enabled. Privacy & Cookie Settings lets you remove local saved games and results.
